ReGeneration Freedom House is a Maryland-based, independent homeschool community that aims to transform the way African American students, ages 6-18, are educated in the United States.  Our mission is to develop their abilities, skills, and resources; to guide our students to recognize truth and their purpose(s); to teach students how to create careers for themselves and others; and, to facilitate and help maintain cultural, economic, and social progress amongst the Afrikan collective. Contactual Openings: Visiting Facilitators (part-time, ongoing)

IMMEDIATE SUPERVISOR: NCAS School Administrator, Iya J’Nefer-Obidahunsi, M.Ed.

GENERAL FUNCTIONS: We are searching for reliable, trustworthy, like-minded, and innovative instructors to join our growing Afrikan-Centered learning community. The Visiting Facilitator’s responsibilities include visualizing & developing lessons; facilitating holistic development through our 7-domain structure; assessing individual and group needs of the class; and, communicating with parents as necessary.

The ideal facilitator should be able to create a nurturing, stimulating environment where every child feels successful. At ReGeneration Freedom House, we are a team of lifelong learners who hope to inspire children to know themselves, and the world around them. We ask that our facilitators possess the consciousness, personality, and culture necessary to guide students in shaping themselves into powerful, regenerated beings.

ReGeneration Freedom House (RFH) Facilitator Responsibilities include:

● Visualizing, facilitating, observing, and assessing student activity in the classroom;

● Creating integrated learning experiences that cater to the needs of the African child and experience;

● Maintaining a safe, stimulating [virtual] classroom where all students feel capable yet challenged;

● Establishing rapport and maintaining authentic relationships with community members based on Ma’atian values;

● Setting a living example of the Nguzo Saba, by committing to the highest cultural ideals of the Afrikan community (unity. Self-determination, collective work & responsibility, cooperative economics, purpose, creativity, and faith);

● Monitoring and assessing student progress in real-time; and,

● Updating observational records in the internal database, and handling various small administrative tasks.

Professional Requirements:

● [Commitment to] completing training in ReGeneration180 Seba School on African-Centered Education, the Psychoeducational Forecast of RFH, as well as any other training throughout tenure;

● Passionate about alternative education for Afrikans in America.

● An ability to engage groups of children of varying ages, needs, and strengths.

● Patience and excellent observational, communication, and collaborative skills.

● The ability to be thoughtful and proactive in your desire to help our community grow and expand;

● Excellent organizational and flexibility skills; and,

● A lifelong learner who can serve as a role model for our children.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The essential duties and responsibilities of the Visiting Facilitator are assigned by the

Executive Director of ReGeneration180. The Visiting Facilitator establishes a learning

environment that encourages knowledge of, respect for, and development of the skills

needed to engage learners of varying comprehension levels.

SUPERVISION

The Visiting Facilitator receives administrative supervision and support from the NCAS School Administrator.
