Olùṣẹ̀ṣẹ́ Parenting Group

(pronounced / oh-loo-SHEH-sheh/)

The Integrative School Psychologists (ISP) is currently focusing her practice on parents who are interested in the profound impact of communal self-development.

Although it may initially evoke feelings of fear and vulnerability, group work and community building offers a multitude of benefits through its collaborative nature.  Research indicates that group care can be just as effective, if not more so, than individual assistance.

Ideal members are those parents who are eager to grow through shared experiences.  Individual support is available for participants as needed.  Her group approach integrates mindfulness-based methods, ancestral healing, and various “Jungian” techniques. She specializes in working with Afrikan American children and families. Currently, the ISP is particularly interested in working with parents who are facing challenges in their parenting relationships or seeking to prevent such challenges.

The ISP views counseling and coaching as a holistic practice that blends spirituality and science. In our group sessions, we will use various methods, including group discussions, movement, meditation, music, cinema, and literature, to engage you in your journey of growth. Furthermore, she is able to administer a variety of psychological assessments such as the MMPI, MBTI, Projective Drawings and Dream Analysis (upon request) to help you with matters beyond the scope of the group.

Olùṣẹ̀ṣẹ́ Parenting Group will meet on the last Saturday of each month from May to October, and then again from November to April. If interested, please complete the form below with accurate contact information, and you will be contacted within 48 hours of receipt.
